INT'L SYMPOSIUM OF MORIN KHUUR PLAYERS ENDS
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ Co-organized by the World Association of Morin Khuur (WAMKh), Cultural and Scientific Fund of World Mongolians and the "Pegasus" center, the 3rd International Symposium of Morin Khuur Players finished on Wednesday.
This Symposium has run in respect of the President's decree on cherishing the Morin Khuur. The action has brought together Morin Khuur researchers, scholars, amateur and professional players from Japan, China, USA, the Republic of Korea, Germany and Russia. They held discussions on matters related to this musical instrument such as its features, teaching methodology, its influence on the Mongolians mentality.
At an exhibition, opened during the Sypmposium, the gathered were amazed when they saw a designed by B.Altanchimeg scuptor unique Morin Khuur made of bones and horns of animals. She said it took her half a year to create this instrument--for professionals, with a head made of a horn of wild sheep, neck--of horn of wild goat, body--of shoulder bone, and with the lyrics of "Perfect Qualities" song by Dulduityn Danzanravjaa skillfully carved inside the body.
