FM IN RUSSIA RECEIVING HONORARY TITLE OF PROFESSOR

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A honorary title of professor of the Baykalsky National University of Economics and Law (BNUEL) of Russian Irkutsk has been given to G.Zandanshatar, Mongolia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Such a decision has been made by the university's academic council in frames of a visit of the Foreign Minister to Russian Irkutsk oblast.

The ceremony took place on April 28 in the university with a participation of the university's authorities including Mr. M.A.Vinokurov, a rector. The Foreign Minister G.Zandanshatar graduated the BNUEL 20 years ago majoring in economics, and other some 800 economists have been prepared by the BNUEL, said Vinokurov. Among them Yu.Tsedenbal, one of the state and social outstanding figures of Mongolia, and nine Ministers of Finance, he said, adding that Mr. Zandanshatar has become the very first Minister of Foreign Affairs to receive the title of honorary professor from this university.

After the ceremony, the Foreign Minister G.Zandanshatar and the governor of Irkutsk oblast Mr. Mezentsev met to share views on the bilateral ties. Mr. Mezentsev said the oblast's government decided to augment a number of Mongolian students to study in Irkutsk and to train 13 master and doctor candidates every year with the governmental scholarships of Russia.
