Everyone is beautiful in their own way

In recent times, surface beauty and staying forever young have become the newest trend among today's society across the world. Women are the highest participants in this trend because women have been conditioned at a young age to believe outer beauty is unsurpassed. Plastic or cosmetic surgery in the past has been kept secret, with one never knowing if a woman has had her nose worked on. Today plastic surgery is being embraced by the millions and those who are in the public eye. 

Narrow eyes, lower nose and high, broad cheeks are the typical image of a Mongolian women. 

Traditionally, women with narrow eyes, low nose and big cheeks were considered to be the beauties of Mongolia. But today this is not the trend that Mongolian women want. Today, in the 21st century Mongolian women don’t like narrow eyes, and lower noses; they want European facial structures. They are having plastic surgery to make their eyes bigger, to make their noses higher. They intend to become perfect by modifying their body parts.

Plastic surgery in Mongolia started to develop in the 1990’s. The most common cosmetic surgery in Mongolia is to create a second eyelid to make the eyes bigger. When you walk down the street you see many women who have had an eyelid tuck. Some of them were done successfully, but some have become the victims of inexperienced surgeons. 

Many hospitals in Ulaanbaatar carry out plastic surgery, but there are only a handful of accredited hospitals that do cosmetic surgery on a professional level. The most popular one is the hospital named Perfect. Many Mongolian beautiful women have lain on the surgery bed of this hospital to improve their perceived imperfections.

Some prefer to have plastic surgery overseas, in South Korea or the United States. But the cost of plastic surgery in those countries is extremely expensive. The majority of Mongolians can’t afford such a high price. 

Thus they decide to have it done in Mongolia, because it is much less expensive. For example the average price in the US for plastic surgery are as follows: breast augmentation (silicone) $6000-8000, eyelid tuck (upper & lower) $4000-5500, face lift $7000-9000, lip augmentation $600-2000, nose surgery $5000-6000 and chin or cheek implants $3000-4500. In South Korea, the average price for an eyelid tuck is (upper & lower) $1500-2000, for nose surgery $2500, for chin or cheek implants it is above $12000, for breast augmentation (silicone) $6000-10000, and for a facelift it is above $6000. While in Mongolia, an eyelid tuck costs $200-1000, breast augmentation $300- 1500, nose surgery $1400-2500 and chin or cheek implants $2500-5000. 

Recently a friend of mine had a breast augmentation in Mongolia. Her reasoning was the need to feel more confident in her own body. She felt out of proportion to the rest of her body. Young and old women today feel the need to look like Barbie, which undoubtedly comes from the need to replicate their favorite celebrities. Other causes for plastic or cosmetic surgery come from low self-esteem issues, sexual satisfaction and the need to be accepted as beautiful. 

To be beautiful is a natural feature of women. But besides taking care of surface beauty, women should care about their internal beauty. Women should be highly educated and should decorate themselves with their knowledge and education as well. There is old saying that a pretty woman without knowledge is like a beautiful flower without a price. On the other hand, everyone is unique and everyone is beautiful in their own way.
