DISCUSSION RUNS ON COMBATING DRUG CRIMES
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A discussion themed "The criminal sentencing policy on drug crimes" ran on Tuesday.
It has been co-organized by the Presidential Office, the General Department of Police (GDP), the Department of Criminal Police (DCP), initiated by a working working that is responsible for working out a draft law on combating drugs.
It has been attended by some 30 officers, researchers and scholars from the Presidential Office, the Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs, the GDP, the DCP, the Investigation Department, the General Authority for Implementing Court Decisions, the Central Intelligence Agency, the General Authority for Border Protection, Mongolia's State University (MSU), the University of Internal Affairs (UIA), and the National Institute of Law.
A researcher at the UIA G.Oyunbold delivered a report "Solving criminal cases related to drugs, substances with psychological effects"; the university's training service head Dr. J.Monkhbold--a report "The criminal sentencing policies of other countries for the drug-related crimes; and Dr. J.Boldbaatar--"Methods and tactics of detecting the drug crimes, refining upon the legal environment".
A section head of the General Authority for Implementing Court Decisions lieutenant-colonel Ts.Ochgerel spoke about "Psychology of people who are serving sentences, detained people for the drug crimes, circumstances".
All reports will be published, proposals will be reflected in the draft law.
