DELEGATION PARTICIPATES IN MINISTERIAL MEETING OF NAM

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A delegation led by S.Onon, a director of the International Organization Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the Ministerial Meeting of the Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

At the meeting, held May 7-10 in Sharm el-Sheikh city, Egypt, the Mongolian side addressed the gathered expressing Mongolia's position towards intensifying the NAM's actions, protecting the political and security interests of developing countries within the NAM and forming it as a positive political force for tackling urgent problems. It has also spoken about an implementation course of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), the International Think-Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries, an opening of which is being discussed, activities of the Community of Democracies (CD), saving the nomadic civilization.

Furthermore, the delegation has had some issues reflected in the final document of the Meeting, concerning the above matters, as well as the UN Literacy Decade, a role of co-operatives in rural development, improving the life of countryside women.

This year's NAM Ministerial Meeting has brought together delegations from 120 countries. Completing the Meeting, they released the Final Document of Sharm el-Sheikh with 688 clauses on a present international situation, positions of localities over challenges of the NAM members and their actions. The meeting also released the 50th anniversary declaration of the African National Congress, and the declaration of political prisoners of Palestine.

In frames of the meeting's general debate, the participants have discussed present situation in Syria and a matter on Nagorny Karabakh.

As the gathered have decided, the next Ministerial Meeting will take place on August 26-31, 2012, in Tehran, Iran.
