BANK OF MONGOLIA REPORTS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Bank of Mongolia reports that money supply (broad money or M2) at the end of April 2012 reached MNT 6,362.9 billion, increasing MNT 258.1 billion or 4.2 per cent against the previous month, and increasing by MNT 1,012.4 billion or 18.9 per cent against the previous year.


Currency issued in circulation reached MNT 708.9 billion, increasing MNT 60.4 billion or 9.3 per cent against the previous month, and increasing MNT 80.3 billion or 12.8 per cent compared to same period of the previous year.

Loans outstanding at the end of April 2012 amounted to MNT 5,936.0 billion, increasing MNT 154.5 billion or 2.7 per cent against the previous month, and by MNT 1962.1 billion or 49.4 per cent against 2011.

Principals in arrears at the end of April 2012 reached MNT 71.2 billion, increasing MNT 9.8 billion or 16.0 per cent against the previous month, but decreasing MNT 11.0 billion or 13.4 per cent against 2011.

The non-performing loans over the bank system reached MNT 316.6 bln.tog, showing decreases of MNT 3.6 billion or 1.1 per cent against the previous month, of MNT 64.9 billion or 17.0 per cent compared to same period of 2011.

In April of 2012, 14.4 million shares valued at MNT 4.1 billion were traded in 21 trading days.
