STATE HEAD IN HAMBURG

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Mayor of Germany's Hamburg city Mr. Olaf Scholz has thanked the State Head Ts.Elbegdorj for visiting their city.

The President Ts.Elbegdorj and his spouse Kh.Bolormaa arrived in Hamburg on March 30.

Mr. Scholz hoped that the city will contribute to a development of the Mongolia-Germany comprehensive partnership relations, especially to the economic cooperation, as the second largest city in Germany and one of the biggest ones in terms of external trade.

“Over 3,000 commercial and industrial entities from Asian and American countries are running business here. One of the port cities, Hamburg has highly developed industries of ship, marine transport and processing and enriching oil and other raw materials. The city shelters such biggest industries as Nivea, Tesa, Daimler, Hansa, Adobe systems and Lufthansa systems. Despite its size, Hamburg is considered as the most eco city in Germany,” Mr. Scholz stressed.

The President underlined that Hamburg is a center of environmentally-friendly technologies, and put proposals to collaborate in reducing air pollution and introducing eco-technologies in Mongolia. Mr. Elbegdorj also asked Scholz to organize a meeting of experts so that they seek ways of utilizing the port for Mongolia's favour.

Mr. Scholz supported the suggestions.

The State Head left his signature in the book of Honored guests of Hamburg city.

The same day, the President Ts.Elbegdorj was invited to the 92nd “Liebesmahl” Dinner, organized by the Asia-Pacific Committee of German Business that joins the biggest banking and financial organizations of Germany and popular companies of the world.

Ts.Elbegdorj addressed 400 guests speaking about the democracy, human rights, challenges facing Mongolia's democracy, and opportunities to boost the Mongolia-Germany partnership and economic cooperation.
