SPEAKER MEETS PARLIAMENTARY DELEGATIONS AND IPU PRESIDENT

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MOAME/ A parliamentary delegation of Mongolia, led by the Speaker D.Demberel have held meetings with delegations of other countries during the 126th Assembly of the Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU) kicked off on Saturday in Kampala, Uganda.

Firstly, D.Demberel has shared views with Ms. Meira Kumar, the Speaker of Lok Sabha-lower house of India's parliament, on the bilateral inter-parliamentary ties.They have expressed a satisfaction with a high-level of the inter-parliamentary relations and cooperation. Ms. Kumar has said she was glad for her official visit paid to Mongolia, adding she has an aspiration to widen the bilateral traditional inter-parliamentary ties.

Then D.Demberel met Ms. Denise Pascal Allende, a leader of the parliamentary delegation of Chile. Ms. Allende has expressed satisfaction with participation in the 19th Annual Meeting of the Asia Pacific Parliamentary Forum, held last year in Ulaanbaatar, and thanked the Speaker for organizing this high-level meeting. The two sides have underlined an importance of expanding the inter-parliamentary ties and exchanging delegates.

After this the Speaker Demberel has held a meeting with his counterpart from Uganda Ms. Rebecca A. Kadaga. He has congratulated Ms. Kadaga on organizing the IPU Assembly and chairing its activities.
On April 1, D.Demberel met Mr. Abdelwahad Radi, the IPU president and a former Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives. The Speaker congratulated Mr. Radi on becoming the new president of the IPU, and underlined that Mongolia always appreciates the IPU's activities and participates in its works. He pointed out that Mongolia has been forming the humanitarian and democratic society, and that the country's economics has been developing rapidly. Mr. Demberel stressed that Mongolia wants to develop the Mongolia-Morocco relations and cooperation and invited Mr. Radi to visit Mongolia. In turn, Mr. Radi expressed thanks to the State Great Khural for supporting him on the IPU president election and for active participation in the IPU's works. He wished Mongolia a successful organization of the upcoming parliamentary election.
