NEW SOURCE OF FUEL OPENED

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy has established a long-term contract with the "SK Energy" company of the South Korea on supplying fuel.

A ceremony took place on Wednesday to sell the first part of fuel to consumers. Present were authorities of the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy. "Mongolia has opened a new source of fuel import, so this day is a special event for us," stressed D.Zorigt, the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy.

In the first turn, a thousand tons fuel will be imported from the South Korea, the fuel meets the European standards, but the price is little bit more expensive than current prices of fuels because a quality of this fuel is internationally-accepted, with a low content of sulphur dioxide.

For the time being, Mongolia is importing fuels from Russia, Kazakhstan, China. Previously, 90 per cent of fuel is provided by the Russian Rosneft. As of present, Mongolia is purchasing fuels from the "TNK", "Gazprom" and "Uralneft" Russian companies.
