FIRST LADY KH.BOLORMAA LEGS SOS CHILDREN'S VILLAGE

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A spouse of the State Head, the First Lady Kh.Bolormaa has visited the Berlin-Maobit- based SOS Children's Village and got acquainted with activities of this village that shelters orphaned and homeless children.

The village head Ms.K. Spivak welcomed the First Lady, and introduced her to activities of his organization.

The Berlin-based SOS Children's Village, located in the centre of Berlin, was officially opened in October of 2005. It has two rented apartments to shelter some twelve children. The children are encouraged to join in a number of activities, such as music lessons, private tuition, and therapeutic programs. The SOS Children's Village includes an SOS Social Centre which used as a day care centre and a meeting point for families, offering family education, special projects for children and--in cooperation with schools-- educational and family counselling, and projects for mothers and children. As of today, 24 children aged 5-15 are living in the village.

Branches of the International SOS Children's Village have opened in Ulaanbaatar and Darkhan cities under a contract which was signed in 1998 by Ts.Elbegdorj when he was a Prime Minister.

Ms. Spivak has asked about activities of the “Bolor-Caring Family” center, headed by the First Lady, and shared views on a possibility to collaborate with each other.
