CABINET MEETING IN BRIEF

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ At its regular meeting on Wednesday, the cabinet made a decision to appoint D.Gerel as a head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

The former Ambassador of Mongolia to the Republic of Korea will replace Mr. R.Bold who has been appointed Mongolia's Ambassador to Australia.

- The cabinet discussed an implementation course of the National developmental policy based on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2011, and decided to submit it to parliament.

- Pursuant to the cabinet decision, foreign workers and specialists will be imported for construction works of autoroads, apartments and fundament structures of mine and enriching factories. They will work until end of this year.

- The cabinet discussed a draft amendment to the law on adjudicating disputes in the Constitutional Court, and decided to convey some proposals to the initiator R.Gonchigdorj MP.

- The cabinet backed in principle draft orders of the President of Mongolia on carrying out examination in reserved materials and facilities for the military mobilization and on approving a rule on wearing the military uniform. Related proposals will be conveyed to the President. A President's draft order on giving directive to the government also was backed in principle.

- The government backed a draft amendment to the criminal law and to the law on criminal procedure, initiated by Ts.Shinebayar MP.

- The cabinet also backed an issue of ratifying a Mongolia-Germany intergovernmental financial cooperation agreement and a credit agreement, to be established between the government of Mongolia and the Reconstruction Bank of Germany.

- By execution of December 2011, the total balanced revenue of the master budget reached MNT 4,159.6 billion, showing an overfulfilling of MNT 118.3 billion or 2.9 per cent. It is an increase of MNT 1.037.1 billion or 33.2 per cent against the year 2010. By a preliminary execution, the expenditure of the master budget reached MNT 4.792 billion out the targeted MNT 5.056.8 billion. 94.8 per cent of the total expenditure has been financed.

- The cabinet approved directives for Mongolian representatives who are to take part in the 4th meeting of the Mongolia-Czech intergovernmental joint commission on trade, economics, science and technical cooperation on April 24-25, 2012 in Ulaanbaatar city.

- In accordance with the cabinet decision, #120 military unit of Mongolia's Armed Forces has become named after a Hero of Mongolia and Colonel-General B.Tsog; the Institute of Geography at the Academy of Sciences--named after an academician and State Prize Holder Sh.Tsegmid; and the National Center of Labor Condition and Occupational Medicine--named after a State Honored Medical Doctor Ya.Monkhchuluun.

- The cabinet decided to give cash prizes of MNT 187 million to athletes and coaches who have won medals in the World championships, World cup tournaments and other international competitions for judo, boxing, soft tennis, sambo wrestling, chess and kurash wrestling.
